    Teaching Reading with Phonics

I wholeheartedly agree that phonics is the
way to teach reading in the early grades.
I went from teaching 3rd grade to first
grade! Boy what a change! I had very little
phonics training. I learned phonics along
with my students using Saxon Phonics. Yes,
it is time consuming and yes it is boring
and repetitive. But, the hard work pays off
when you see the student start to progress
and learn how to decode the unknown word!
Every school should use a structured
    phonics program. It works!!!
