Teaching – The Power of Influence
The impact of teaching is clear, and the influence of the profession is immeasurable. All it takes is one moment, one situation, one discussion to turn the life of a young learner.

About BattleShip Ron (aka “BSR”) in his own words...

I came to Teachers.Net right after 9/11 looking for teachers that would be interested in having their class send thank you cards to world leaders for their sympathy and support after the attacks on our country. It wasn't huge success but some teachers participated and I think it helped with the healing process that was desperately needed.

I am not teacher, but many on the chatboards have told me that, though I don’t have a license to teach, they have learned much from my contributions.

I was born in N.J. and later as an adult moved to Cape Canaveral Florida, home of the Kennedy Space Center and the space shuttles. Cocoa Beach is just down the street from me, where the 1960's sitcom I Dream of Jennie took place.

I love living here in Florida. It gives me the chance to work, vacation and retire a little everyday. I feel lucky to be able to witness live space shuttle and rocket launches. I've learned much about the process of launching humans into space and enjoying bringing that knowledge to teachers here at T-net.

My profession is in print media where I have worked most of my life. I enjoy photography. I like making Cross Eye 3D photos and lately, recording videos. I enjoy computer video games and the challenge of having a computer that can run them.

I have two sons and between them both I’ve been gifted with 5 grandchildren and another on the way.

I’m single now and I love it! I live just upstairs from where I work and I ride my bicycle just about anywhere I need to go. I don’t own a car but will rent one when I need it.

I never eat at home which frees up my refrigerator for valuables when I need to evacuate during a hurricane.
