other, level: all
Posted Sat Sep 11 16:23:56 PDT 1999 by amy swindler ().
first avenue middle school, arcadia, ca
Materials Required: fruit loops or other, cupcake papers, terms, bingo boards, and prizes
Activity Time: whole period
Concepts Taught: students will learn lesson concepts through bingo

this lesson was borrowed from erin gruwell at wilson high school in long beach, ca. this lesson may be modified for any grade or subject. basically, students play bingo with fruit loops. students should be given a list of 50 terms and definitions. students are then given bingo boards with 25 squares. students my choose what and where the terms should be placed on the boards. boards may be created using the tables tool on computers. students may be given one holder of fruit loops to eat and one to play with. fruit loops may be substituted for m@ms, skittles, or other candy. as students win, they receive a prize. my students love this activity, but it gets messy. i always make sure there are no fruit loops on the floor. students are warned that if there is a mess, then bingo will not be played again.
